Coming soon: "Voyages of Discovery"
Mar. 23rd, 2007 11:46 pmDrum roll please, ladies and gentlemen ... I'd like to announce that yes, the sequel to "The Calm Before the Storm" is currently around chapter fourteen, and I'm making exceptional help with the assistance of fabulous betas
ivydoor,
platypus, and
sensiblecat.
The title comes from a quotation from Trappist monk and reknown writer Thomas Merton, who is in many ways the basis of my character Jacob:
"What can we gain by sailing to the moon if we are not able to cross the abyss that separates us from ourselves? This is the most important of all voyages of discovery, and without it, all the rest are not only useless, but disastrous."
The story is set post-Doomsday, immediately following the events of "The Calm Before the Storm" from Rose's perspective. I won't spoil you, but I am delighted to say I get to write and play a little with Jackie Tyler, and that made me terribly, terribly happy. My icon, actually, is a teeny bit of a hint of things to come. It's designed by
ivydoor, who wickedly planted a plot bunny in my ear that just turned out to be an actual rabbit.
