I had absolutely zero use for Ianto during the first series of Torchwood, and I'm completely turned around on him as of this last episode. For one, I love a deadpan delivery (see my gigglyfest over Ben's snarking on Lost for evidence) and I certainly got my fair share of that.
I liked this episode even beyond the one-liners, which were abundant. The fact that Janet the weevil went and peed in the corner when she/he/it saw Beth was appropriately revealing. I liked Beth and the stunt she pulled at the end. I love the idea that they can come back to the concept of sleepers in a month or a year -- or never.
My husband had one major issue with the show, and he makes a very solid point. When they put the mind-probe on Beth and made all the comments about possible brain explosion, could they have not put her in some nice room that they could have wiped down a bit easier? It would be a bitch to get all the brain out from between all those nooks and crannies.
And Ianto FTW:
"He is dashing. You have to give him that."
::sporfle::
ETA: Now, Jack can't die, but surely his coat would have a big-ass hole in the back of it now? This is going to bother me now. Maybe Owen sewed it up for him. (Yes. It would be Owen. He's a doctor. He'll have nice, small, neat stitches.)
ETA Part 2: Thanks
roquentine. I am occasionally dense and I have fixed the quote. ::facepalm::
