Lost-o-rama
When I said I was going to binge-watch Lost, I wasn't kidding. I'm on episode 3-11, Enter 77. I'll finish it and probably another tonight.
Spoiler-free impressions so far. The first six episodes of the fall mini-season, the only ones I watched last year, weren't as frustrating as I remember them being. Maybe that's because I didn't have to wait a week between each one. I think this show is one that lends itself to continuous watching like this -- one episode flows pretty neatly into another.
Basically, it's still Lost, with abundant WTF? moments (although none quite as startling as the original "WTF, polar bear?" moment). I did have a moment when I was thrown totally out of the show -- a can't-miss it closeup of Kate's freshly shaved armpit. Uh, no. They've done a good job of making sure everyone looks a little stinky without being horrible about it, but seriously.
There's not a character on the show anymore who really annoys the crap out of me -- thankfully, they've all gotten killed. This show and Heroes do a pretty decent job of continually thinning the herd of characters when it gets too unwieldy. Lost happily tends to off the ones I don't like.
And I'm not sure if it's me, or is Naveen Andrews even prettier this season?
Anyway, back to the grind.
