I need to rant, as I just deleted 49 pieces of spam.  Granted, I use Gmail, and the spam filtering is superb, but freaking A!  Enough.

Who are the morons who respond to this stuff, anyway???

DO NOT WANT:
(Not an all-inclusive list)

• ... to make my penis bigger.  Don't have one, personally.
• Viagra/Cialis/whatever.
• Hot Japanese schoolgirls.  (Or, for that matter, Japanese schoolgirls with really lovely personalities.)
  
• Financial deals from Nigerian dictators.
• Microcap stock deals.

Although, I do have to point to the occasional (inadvertent) educational experience that spam provides.  For example, I did not know that there were some guys that were self-conscious about how much semen they produce.  Okay.  I get the whole penis-size insecurity, but seriously?  Guys, if you want to impress us, leave the seat down.

*snort* Yeah, I get that too. I particularly enjoy the emails inviting me to enhance the size or staying power of body parts I do not actually possess. And all the ones inviting me to help get millions of dollars out of some country or other in exchange for a share of the booty.

Despite my university's spam blocker, at LEAST a dozen useless emails a day get through, not to mention the hundred or so that actually are blocked and go into the 'junk mail' folder. Unfortunately, the spam blocker has the bad habit of sometimes blocking useful emails too - like from students or colleagues. So I really should check the subject lines of those 100+ blocked emails every day, just in case.

*sigh* I hate junk mail - total utter waste of time that I could be spending reading your latest AMAZINGLY INCREDIBLE WONDERFUL story!

I have managed to go through and steadily remove myself from most of the snail mail junk lists -- which is a blessing. I guess the e-stuff doesn't bug me as much as piles of physical junk mail did, but there you go.

You're very kind to say nice things about the story ... enjoy.
