I am, as always, a hoarder of good quotations. I used one per chapter for Voyages of Discovery, and I have to say that the search for an appropriate quotation was nearly as much fun as writing. I certainly can get distracted that way.

Anyway, I'm looking for some quotes for some vignettes I'm working on (hee), and I found a couple that I'm not going to use, but were worth sharing.

"Somewhere on this globe, every ten seconds, there is a woman giving birth to a child. She must be found and stopped." -- Sam Levenson

""If the radiance of a thousand suns
Were to burst at once into the sky
That would be like the splendor of the Mighty one --
I am become Death,
The shatterer of Worlds."
-- The Bhagavad Gita

"One by one the sands are flowing,
One by one the moments fall;
Some are coming, some are going;
Do not strive to grasp them all."
-- Adelaide Proctor

These are cool. My favorite quote at the moment happens to be "Somewhere in all this shit, there's gotta be a pony!"

Heh heh heh. I like that one, too. It's very optimistic.

I got a laugh out of the first one, and the second one definately gave me the heebie-jeebies if nothing else. I might end up using the last one for a story of mine though--is that OK? Oh, and if you're wondering who I am, I'm Doctors_Companion from "A Teaspoon and an Open Mind"

Go right ahead and use any of them you like! The second one is chilling, and gorgeous.

Oh, and I forgot to put this in my comment, but there is a quote thing I am having the Doctor say in one of my stories. Well, I mean, it's the quote in the begining, but he says it.
The thing that goes bump in the night? That’s me falling out of bed.
The rustling in the closet? That’s me going through your clothes.
The monster under the bed? That’s me looking for a sock I left there sometime last week.
The howl that echoes through the night? That’s me after I stub my toe.
That feeling you get, like someone’s watching you, but when you turn around no one’s there? That’s just you being paranoid.

Oh, I love it. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean no one is watching. :)

Funny, then creepy, then deep. I like the way your mind works.

Never conjure anything bigger than your head.
